The Object of Your Faith
Day 3 - March 25 / Pastor Dan Betters
Romans 5:1
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
What a sweet and powerful reminder of the object of our faith and the reward of our faith. The object is Christ and the reward is peace with God. Faith in Christ is the only pathway to perfect peace that passes all understanding.
There is a lot going on in our world right now. This pandemic is one for the history books and you are living right in the middle of it. Maybe it's hard for you to have subjective peace or a feeling of peace so let's reach for something different. Paul says in Romans that you have objective peace. Peace with God is something that cannot be removed - it is a fact of the Christian life. Our subjective peace, the peace that we feel flows from our objective peace - the peace that we have.
If you have an objective peace with God (which you do if Jesus is the object of your faith), then you can experience subjective peace on a daily basis. When you are really starting to get anxious about things you cannot control, remember that you are loved by the One Who is in control of all things.
Your faith in Christ has eternal rewards that have been secured by Jesus and given graciously to you, but your faith in Christ also has daily rewards. I want to encourage you that these rewards will ebb and flow because our faith ebbs and flows. When it ebbs, remind yourself that Jesus is your object of faith, not the source of your anxiety. When it flows, give thanks to God for the accomplishment of Christ - the true source of our peace.

Prayer Points:
- Ask God to convict you of things that don't offer peace
- Give thanks for the Cross of Christ and the peace it brings
- Read and pray through Psalm 91

I want to thank you for the article on the" Object of Faith ". It really helped in clarifying my confusion about what the object of faith means. Also, I would like to be included in your mailing list, for future articles and other Christian, and Christ related newsletters, materials. Thanks.
